The Haven are proud to support:
The Rainbow Centre (established 1990) is a registered charity based in Fareham, Hampshire. The Centre provides Conductive Education services for babies and young children with cerebral palsy and other conditions that result in impairment of the central nervous system, causing mobility disorders. The Rainbow Centre builds on what the children can do.
Conductive Education is a system of learning for children that not only aims to improve mobility skills and function but also to affect development as a whole, including social, emotional and intellectual aspects.
Conductive Education can also help adults with acquired motor impairment, e.g. multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease or people recovering from strokes. It is a holistic approach, teaching individual strategies for coping. Through meaningful activities the child or adult will begin to learn new ways of approaching the challenges faced in everyday life. Conductive Education helps people to achieve their true potential.
